After Surgery Caregivers Help Those Needing Care Post Surgery

With the average age of the population rising, it's not uncommon to hear reports of family members and friends scheduled for surgery. Treatment for pain after surgery depends on the type of pain you're experiencing. As people don't like to opt for medication based pain reliefs, it may be helpful to look into homeopathic or natural remedies. Some options are:
Nerve-related pain may be treated with over-the-counter or prescription pain medications, including painkillers or medications used to treat seizures. Local anesthetics may also help relieve pain due to nerve damage.
Inflammation of the skin may be treated with topical pain medications, such as capsaicin, which has been effective in treating jabbing pain.
Muscle spasms have been effectively treated with injections of Botox, the same substance used to reduce wrinkles.
Alternative therapies including acupuncture, acupressure, transcutaneous nerve stimulation, relaxation training, biofeedback, hypnosis and yoga also may be of benefit in reducing pain. Talk with your doctor about what may offer you the most relief.

Tips to reduce morning sickness/ Postpartum care in Altadena

Unfortunately, as many as 70% of new mothers experience morning sickness. While uncomfortable and sometimes downright awful, it is a natural response and usually does not affect the baby. A-1 Home Care investigates:

At times, morning sickness can be mild. However, the pregnant mother may at other times feel so nauseous that she will vomit. Even though morning sickness can be extremely unpleasant, it is hardly ever severe enough to cause metabolic derangement. In most cases, morning sickness settles down by the end of the first trimester.

We encourage you to follow the time and tested tips posted below:

1. Get enough rest: Morning sickness and nausea is exacerbated by fatigue.

2. Get up slowly: Don't be in a hurry to get out of bed when you wake up. Take your time.

3. Avoid some types of foods: Avoid fatty and/or spicy foods. Avoid caffeine as well.

4. Food portion sizes - have small ones: While it is good to have some food in the stomach, it's not ideal to be overful, as it contributes to more nausea.

24 Hour Home Care in Altadena

Ask an elder and chances are, they'll say that they wish to stay at home through their old age. It's natural: you spend a lifetime cultivating a family and home. It's logical to want to culminate your life enjoying the fruits of your labors. The LA Times agrees:

"Home-based care is increasingly seen as a legitimate and less costly alternative to nursing      home care. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, signed into law by President Obama in March 2010, includes provisions to assist people who want to stay in their homes longer."

Americans are realizing that a live-in caregiver can be more desirable and practical than placing loved ones in nursing homes. A-1 Home Care arranges friendly Altadena 24 Hour Caregivers for employment in neighborhoods near you!
